Privacy policy
CNES takes the protection of your personal data seriously. This policy explains what data is collected on www.cnes.sn, why, and how to exercise your rights, in accordance with Law No. 2008-12 of 25 January 2008 on the protection of personal data.
Data controller
National Confederation of Employers of Senegal (CNES), 5, Avenue Carde, PO Box 3819, Dakar, Senegal. Contact: contact@cnes.sn.
Data collected and purposes
The site collects the data you choose to send and, with your consent, traffic statistics:
- Contact form: full name, e-mail address, phone and organisation (optional), subject and message. Purpose: to answer your request (information, membership, partnership, press). An encrypted, non-reversible fingerprint of the IP address is kept to prevent abuse; the IP address itself is not stored.
- Newsletter: e-mail address and language. Purpose: to send you CNES news. Subscription only takes effect after confirmation through a link sent by e-mail.
- Audience measurement, only if you accept it: pages viewed, visit length, origin (search engine, social network), device type, approximate country and city. Purpose: to understand site traffic and improve its content. This data is statistical and never used for advertising.
- Download counters: the site counts, day by day, downloads and online readings of each publication. This counting uses no cookie and records no personal data.
No data is used for commercial purposes, or transferred or sold to third parties.
Legal basis
Your consent, given by ticking the box provided in each form, or by clicking "Accept" in the audience measurement banner. You may withdraw it at any time. Download counters are based on CNES's legitimate interest in knowing how its publications are used.
Recipients
Data is intended only for the CNES departments handling your request. It is hosted in Senegal by Kheweul.Com SA, the site's hosting provider; e-mails pass through CNES's professional e-mail service (Google Workspace) and traffic statistics are processed by Google Analytics (Google LLC). These providers act as processors; Google may process data outside Senegal, in particular in the United States, and CNES ensures it offers an adequate level of protection.
Retention
- Contact form messages: 3 years from the last exchange.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe; an unconfirmed subscription request is deleted.
- Traffic statistics (Google Analytics): 14 months.
- Your audience measurement choice: 6 months, after which you are asked again.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, object to and delete your data. To exercise these rights, write to contact@cnes.sn stating your request. Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may contact the Commission de Protection des Données Personnelles (CDP), Senegal's supervisory authority (www.cdp.sn).
Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies, set without consent because the site cannot work securely without them:
- cnes-session: browsing session, deleted after 2 hours of inactivity;
- XSRF-TOKEN: protects forms against fraudulent submissions;
- cnes_consent: remembers your audience measurement choice for 6 months.
Audience measurement cookies, set only if you click "Accept" in the banner:
- _ga and _ga_<identifier> (Google Analytics): anonymously distinguish visitors and measure visits, for up to 13 months.
If you decline, no measurement cookie is set and the site remains fully accessible. You can change your mind at any time through the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page; if you withdraw your consent, Google Analytics cookies are deleted. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookie is used. YouTube videos are loaded from youtube-nocookie.com only when you click to play them; the headquarters map is provided by OpenStreetMap.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to data is restricted to authorised CNES staff.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated, in particular when a new service is added. The version in force is the one published on this page.
