On Tuesday 23 June, the National Confederation of Employers of Senegal (CNES) received a Tunisian delegation led by H.E. Rachid Saidani, Ambassador of Tunisia to Senegal, together with representatives of FIPA (Foreign Investment Promotion Agency), the Tunisian agency for the promotion of foreign investment, the Directorate General for Economic and Cultural Diplomacy of the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Expertise France.
The meeting was chaired by the Second Vice-President of CNES, Mohamet SECK, in the presence of the Confederation's Executive Director. It was part of an exploratory mission to identify new opportunities for economic cooperation between Senegal and Tunisia, particularly in agriculture.
Cooperation and the sharing of expertise were central throughout the discussions. The Tunisian delegation stressed its wish to raise Tunisia's economic profile in Senegal by building partnerships in close collaboration with Senegalese stakeholders.
The meeting was also an opportunity to review the partnerships already linking the two countries. One of the main ambitions discussed was to strengthen communication between the two countries in order to develop new partnerships.
These discussions enabled both the employers' organisation and the Tunisian delegation to identify ways to improve their collaboration and support growth in their respective countries.
