Mission
SMEs make up almost 90% of Senegalese businesses but still generate only about 30% of jobs, 25% of turnover and 20% of national value added: their contribution remains below their potential. There are fewer than 7,000 formal SMEs out of some 408,000 registered entities, a sign of the persistent weight of the informal sector (ADEPME, World Bank, ANSD).
