Economy and Finance Committee

Strengthening business competitiveness.

Mission

The committee keeps a constant watch on national economic policy, tax reforms, access to finance, public procurement, private investment and the business climate.

Why it matters: access to finance remains one of the main constraints on growth. In Senegal, only 22.6% of companies have a bank loan or credit line, and 68% of SMEs do not even approach a financial institution (ADEPME, World Bank).

Major projects 2026-2027

  • Reform of SME financing and better access to credit;
  • Shorter payment times;
  • Simpler administrative procedures;
  • New financing mechanisms.

Key issues followed

  • Domestic debt

    Securing payment of State arrears to companies, a condition for their cash flow and for jobs.

  • Business environment

    Taxation, regulation, access to finance: making business easier and strengthening competitiveness.

  • Investment Code
